Relationship between education and philosophy

- Both are interrelated and interdependent like fragrance and flower, both go hand in hand.

Education and philosophy are two flowers of one trunk and two sides of a coin. Philosophy is the thinking side and the active side of the other coin.

-Conceptual knowledge plays a fundamental role through which learning objectives are revealed.

Ross said "Philosophy and education are two sides of the same coin, one underlying the other, the former being the contemplative companion of life, while the latter is the active side."

John Adams said, "Education is the dynamic side of philosophy."

John Dewey said, "Philosophy is the theory of education at its most general", education is a laboratory in which philosophical distinctions are strengthened and tested.

* How guna is related to philosophy and education:-

-Education is vision in action

-Learning and education are two sides of the same coin

- German philosophers have been great teachers

- Vidya determines various aspects of education

- Vidya Darshan is the basis of education.

* Education in Action is Darshan:-

1. Philosophy provides thought / purpose or purpose and teaching function on it practically.

2. Philosophy shows the road map or direction and education will follow that road or direction.

3. That is why education is the dynamic side of philosophy and we can say “philosophy in action.”

- The relationship between education and philosophy is like the relationship between a blind man and a lame man. A lame man can see but cannot walk and a blind man is able to walk but cannot see.

-To reach the goal, the blind and the lame must work together. A lame man (philosophy) will show the direction and a blind man (education) will follow.

-So vision will show the direction and education will proceed in that direction.
